Updated ~ Papa & Teri's B B Q Sauce

1/2 onion, minced
1/2 cup, plus 2 tablespoons ketchup
1 - 12 ounce jar chili sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
heaping 1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar

Mix onion and 2 tablespoons ketchup together in a glass mixing bowl.  Microwave onions at 80% power for 1-2 minutes just to soften.  Now mix in all other  ingredients.

I use this sauce mostly for grilled BBQ chicken. I use breasts, but any piece of chicken will work fine! Remove the skin from the breast, and grill the breast side up first without using any sauce and then turn chicken over and add sauce to grilled side of the chicken.  Then grill the skinless side of the chicken breast until the chicken is more than halfway done.  Turn breast over and liberally cover top of chicken breast with BBQ sauce and grill until chicken is finished cooking.
Our favorite side is a green veggie or green salad and small grilled red potatoes.  Take each potato and jab it with a fork, rub the potatoes with a little olive oil and cook whole in the microwave until they are almost done; on high this should only take a 2-3 minutes, depending on how many potatoes you are cooking.   Sprinkle potatoes with a little coarse salt and fresh pepper and place them on the grill.  Turn as needed until potatoes have nice grill marks.  Serve potatoes with butter and sour cream on the side.
