Blue Cheese and Caramelized Onion Puffs Appetizer

 

1 batch puff pastry, using ¾ - 1-inch ice cream scoop to make small puffs

1 large onion sliced thinly and caramelized until golden colored, then set aside on a paper towel to cool.

Mix in a food processor:

1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon buttermilk ranch dressing mix powder

4 ounces blue cheese

4 ounces cream cheese

1 teaspoon honey

Dash cayenne pepper or to taste

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sour cream

Dash of Penzeys Shallot- Pepper Seasoning

 

Put the cream cheese mixture into a bowl and stir in caramelized onions that have cooled.  Cover bowl and chill mixture for about an hour. Cut puffs in half and fill with about 1 heaping spoonful of cream cheese mixture.  Serve and enjoy!
